He specialises in various areas of safety and health research and practice, including occupational wellbeing, decent and sustainable work, and human capital management. He holds a BA (Hons) in English and European Studies from Nottingham Trent University, a Masters by Research in Comparative Literary Studies from Warwick University, and a PhD in Comparative Literary Studies, also from Warwick University. He has previous experience in academia, where he has published in a number of fields, and has also worked in education, journalism, and community programmes.
