Ideagen names Ian Hepworth as Chief Technology Officer
The founder and former CTO of Segura Systems will head up Ideagen’s technical function from May 1st
Ideagen, the UK-based quality, safety, audit, performance and risk management software developer, has announced it has appointed a new Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Ian Hepworth (pictured right) will oversee the company’s technical function, the largest single department in the Ideagen Group, from Tuesday, May 1st. The 42-year-old has over 25 years’ experience in solutions architecture, programme management and infrastructure and software development.
In recent years, he has been working with clients such as Life Style Sports & Packt Publishing in a consultancy and non-executive CTO capacity; guiding, architecting and delivering digital transformation and cloud migration projects. He previously served as founder and CTO of Segura Systems, an industry leader in supply chain management and transparency software for the retail sector.
Barnaby Kent, Ideagen’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ian Hepworth as Ideagen’s new Chief Technology Officer.
“Our technical operation represents around a third of our entire workforce. For some time we have been searching for the right candidate who could drive through short-term, high-quality programs; but maintain a focus on delivering on Ideagen’s long-term technical vision.
“Ian comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience; from founding and managing the technical operations within his own start-up to working on some huge projects for some of the largest and most recognised organisations in the world.
“We are extremely pleased that he has accepted this role and we are looking forward to seeing the impact he has on our technical division. We are confident he provides the right balance of strategic thinking coupled with a practical hands-on approach to leadership.”
Under Ian’s strategic guidance, Segura developed from a seed idea, through product development and growth. He has held senior technology management and delivery roles for companies such as Thomson Reuters, Times Supplement Limited, Cambridge University Press and Pfizer, delivering large-scale technology-driven change, migration and merger & acquisition projects.
Ian said: “This is an exciting challenge and one that I am very much looking forward to. Ideagen is a rapidly growing, ambitious and successful software firm operating in a governance, risk and compliance industry filled with tremendous opportunity. I am very much looking forward to playing a key role in the future success of the company.”
