Ideagen Chooses Macmillan Cancer Support as Corporate Charity for 2019
The Nottingham-based software company launched its charity tie-up with a ‘Go Green Day’
Ideagen has announced its corporate charity for 2019 – Macmillan Cancer Support.
The Nottingham-based firm launched their partnership with Macmillan through an organisation-wide ‘Go Green’ day.
The ‘Go Green’ day was organised by Ideagen’s ‘Making a Difference’ charity team and involved staff dressing in the corporate colours of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Shannon Davis, Senior and Internal Customer Account Manager, who also oversees Ideagen’s ‘Making a Difference’ Charity and Social Committee, said: “Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the leading cancer charities that provides specialist healthcare, information and financial support to individuals and families affected by cancer.
“As well as helping with the medical needs of people, the charity also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and is a dedicated campaigner for better all-round cancer care.
“We are absolutely delighted to be working with Macmillan Cancer Support this year. The ‘Go Green’ day was a fantastic way to kick off our year-long charity efforts and we have a number of other charity events lined up throughout 2019 to raise as many funds for the charity as possible.”
Macmillan Cancer Support was chosen by Ideagen as its corporate charity following a company-wide staff vote.
Stacey Smalley, Macmillan’s Fundraising Manager, said: “We want everyone with cancer to know that they can turn to Macmillan and that we can help them from the moment they are diagnosed.
“We also want to inspire more people to give to Macmillan so we can continue to be there for people when they need us the most. I am so excited to be working with Ideagen this year, their passion and enthusiasm to make a difference will help us be there for more people. We rely on fundraising for 98% of our income so partnerships like this are so important."
She added: “The team at Ideagen are ‘Going Green’ for Macmillan to launch our partnership, I am really looking forward to working with the company and it's fantastic ‘Making a Difference’ team this year.”
Previously, Ideagen’s ‘Making a Difference’ committee have helped to raise more than £18k for vulnerable children charities, Action for Children as well as mental health organisations Mind and SAMH.
