Pakistan’s Engro Corporation implements software from Ideagen for internal audit automation

The multi-national corporation becomes Ideagen’s first client in Pakistan
Ideagen has agreed a project with a multinational corporation in Pakistan to automate its internal audit operations.
Engro Corporation, based in Karachi with subsidiaries across the globe, will implement Ideagen’s Pentana Audit software solution.
Engro is one of Pakistan’s most progressive, growth oriented organisations and is involved in the production and distribution of fertilisers, foods, chemicals, energy and petrochemicals worldwide.
Pentana Audit will enable Engro to automate its internal audit department and associated processes, replacing manual and paper documentation as it modernises its complete auditing landscape.
Zain Ansari, Leader of Technology & Cyber Risk at Deloitte Pakistan, who worked alongside Ideagen to launch the project with Engro – one of Deloitte’s clients – in Pakistan, said: “There was a requirement for an audit management solution at Engro and we helped them assess the market before settling on Ideagen and Pentana Audit thanks to Ideagen’s strong market standing and knowledgeable workforce.
“Through Ideagen’s software, Engro will automate their entire internal audit processes, which was left unautomated following a recent organisation-wide modernisation project.”
Mr Ansari added: “This is an exciting project and one that will bring numerous benefits to Engro Corporation, not least in the form of time savings and overall operational efficiencies.
“Pentana Audit will replace a series of Excel spreadsheets previously used for internal audit functions and will allow them to electronically capture audit planning, execution and data gathering of audit evidence from across the business.”
Pentana Audit is Ideagen’s internal audit software which provides a complete risk-based audit automation solution for organisations. It is currently implemented within over 450 organisations globally such as Standard Life, BT Group and Heineken.
