How I got here
After studying business and finance at college, I decided that I didn't want a career in finance. I also didn't want to do Level 3 Business, and going to university was never really something that interested me. Instead, I decided I wanted to express my creative side, and this has become possible with my role as an E-Learning Designer at Ideagen.
About my role
My role can change day to day. It can involve creating scope and script documents, as well as creating courses. I use WorkRite everyday to look at and update our old courses. For example, since COVID-19, there have been changes in the way we do things, so it’s important we update our courses to make sure there’s no misleading information.
The skills I use
- Research
- Writing
- Communication
- Time management
My tips for others
Research the company you are applying to in detail so that you can confidently answer any questions about the company itself. This will impress the interviewer and show initiative. Make sure you also understand the role you are applying for, and the responsibilities involved in it.
My other tip would be to network with individuals from the industry you are looking to work in, as well as with like-minded individuals.
More about me
In 2020, my family adopted a French bulldog who has become a big part of our lives. I enjoy taking him for walks.
